Character Reboot: The 12 Olympians - Poseidon

Name: Poseidon
God/Goddess of: The Seas, Earthquakes, and Tidal Waves
Symbol(s):  The Horse, The Bull, The Dolphin, and The Trident
Bio: Brother of Zeus and Hades, and king of all the oceans. Eons ago, after defeating their predecessors, the Titans, the gods divided the Universe among themselves, three of the most notable being Zeus, who claimed the Heavens, Poseidon, who took dominion over the oceans, and Hades, who was left with ruling the Underworld upon being tricked by Zeus. Despite being married to Amphitrite, Poseidon once became smitten with the Goddess, Demeter, however in order to deter him, Demeter asked him to make the most beautiful animal that the world had ever seen in order to prove his worth. So in an effort to impress her, Poseidon created a great variety of animals in his efforts to make Demeter his, eventually creating the first horse, however after a great number of unsuccessful attempts, by the time the horse was created, Poseidon's passion for Demeter had diminished. To symbolise his dominion over the seas, Poseidon's primary weapon was his trident, with which he could make the earth shake, causing earthquakes, and shatter any object, as such he was second only to Zeus in terms of power among the gods.
